Hi, I'm new, have never joined a computer help site, so excuse me if I'm not clear enough, I'm also somewhat a beginner.

In the active window, after someone tampered with settings somehow, suddenly I've got an exploded view now.

Here's what I mean exactly: I visit a message board where before, I could always read a person's full post. But now, I have to scroll over to read each line left to right because it's too big and doesn't fit inside the message box anymore. :(

I guess it may be a desktop setting or something troubling me, but after much looking thru it and trial and error, I cannot change it and additionally there is a new one inch white border on just the bottom and right side inside the message box when I'm on this message board I visit.

Thanks very much for any suggestions.

    ~matty

In Internet Explorer, click on VIEW->Text Size and select a smaller size.

Yeah, it's not the text size, I'm sorry.

That's not what I meant, the text looks as usual, it's the whole SITE I visit itself. Used to be I looked at it from further back you could say, now I'm getting an exploded view of the whole darned site, like you took a magnifying glass to it and so I can't view the site in it's entirety without scrolling, which's ridiculous, having to scroll left and right to read their messages. :)

Also, now, the white border I was experiencing to be on the bottom and right side is now waaaay bigger. The window box is way larger to accomodate any internet site and now when I click to Maximize, the window you'd see the site appear in is ridiculously small and squat, I'll have to scroll even more now, haha.

~Sheesh, thanks for help, tho. :(

Hahaha, just kiddin', I wouldn't leave you hangin' like that. :)

I made it go away earlier today, I thought, when I altered a setting in Appearances in the display properties that just seemed wrong and it just came back a few minutes later.

I ran some spyware on it and restored some of the files it listed to their previous condition. When I did that, it seemed to have taken and is alright now. A couple of those restored files happened to be desktop items under 'settings.'

And if you ask me the exact location of the trouble is:
(If you right click on desktop)
    Properties>Appearance tab>ITEM, [the second one down]>Selected Item

    I can't be positive, though. :)
