    Hi people :)

Need some help, with the sims 3 coming out and the desire to have a better running computer (come on i can't even run Age of empires 2!) I would like to update my processor and video card. The guy i bought the computer off said it would play games fine, but i looked on the nvidia site and the video card isn't even capable of running vista! (which is what it runs)

so i need to get a 2.4ghz processor and a minimum 256mb video card. now i know all about RAM and all that but i get lost if its any further than that! I will post the EVEREST report and see if people can help! If there is any more information you need please ask!

    Thanks

    Nixxi :)

If you want to upgrade your CPU, you would have to upgrade your board also as newer Intel CPU use different sockets.

On the other hand, you could try to upgrade your graphic card [currently you have on board card which is just enough for Windows graphics & nothing else].

That's only if you want to get a newer family of processor (like Quad core or core i7).

Consult your motherboard manual to determine what the maximum supported Dual Core CPU is that would be compatible. You do have a low-end (E2140) model, and may benefit if you upgrade to a faster model.
