A happy new year to all!

Just wondering what you guys think about the program RegCure. Its said to clean up the Registry and enable your PC to run better..

Yesterday I purchased and installed it and it cleaned out some 1300 items. Off the top of my head it seems ok ... anyone has an opinion on this program, whether its as good as it claims..

    Thank you in advance.

Hi Beach Boy. Regcure is a complete scam and the program shouldn't be used at all. It will give exaggerated reports of errors that need to be fixed but it does nothing to improve your computers performance. By paying for it you are wasting your money so don't fall for this scam. Windows manages the registry just fine and by using a Registry Cleaner to clean the registry you could hose your system and cause it to become unbootable. Read this for more information, http://www.edbott.com/weblog/archives/000643.html.

I can't agree... Windows may mange their own registry ok but you can't grantee all the other software you install manage their registry responsibly especial for those software that intend to leave some information on your system even after you uninstalled it.

Anyway, Regcure, from my point of view, is a great software in its kind.

I don't think you'll find many in agreement here, the risks far outweigh the tiny benefits (if any).

However, if you can point to any site that actually proves this type of software is benificial I'll be happy to look at them.

Hi, wildfire. You are right. I don't have actual proves in hand to PROVE this type of software is beneficial. I also don't want to provide any links because most of them are commercial sites that basically meaningless. What I am sharing here is a common experience rather than logic fact. At least I tried Regcure and feel it helps with my system performance. Is there a prove that clean all the temp files will help system performance? I doubt there is such authority testing. But we know it helps. Same thing with registry cleaning... At least that's my experience.

    Fair enough,

    How about your experience then...

    What benefit did you see?

    What software did you run?

What keys did it fix (I'm sure you would've kept a backup)?

And finally what result do you get now running the same scan?

If you like I can create a reg file that you can import without causing any system problems (say 20,000 entries and you can see if regcure detects them all and if it does how much of a speed improvement both before and after).

Let me know if you're interested.

Well guys thanks much for the info..

To be on the safe side, I will un-install RegCure and try to get them to credit my Visa account with the $39.90 I have been charged. Hope this does not be difficult to do. At least they should credit me with most of the money back ... what do you think?

Their money back guarantee isn't worth the paper it was written on, wait a minute... Did you even get it on paper?

Sorry Beach Boy but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you, but let us know how you get on anyway.

well, hi all ! does any of the software work the way it says? maybe but i have a hard time with it being pushed down my throught.you buy a computer some come with software some don't. but you expect some satisfaction ,every thing is a free scan ,
but nothing is actually free dont down load anything ! well until you get results if they want to sell me a vacuum then they will vacuum my floor and ill see how clean it is , and if these software company greeds understood that more of us would purchase the software. i think? i think reg cure is a scam. like others , exterminate -- i just got and it dont remove a whole lot, now im just not trustworthy on anything any honest answers out there ? would be much appreciated by me and others thanks people.

well, I wish people who judge this software are actually tried the software rather than just think its a scam because on its kind...

My experience is, I used Norton for 3 years now and I haven't get any virus, but I don't want to think Norton is also a scam software just because I didn't get any results....

So why not take me up on my challenge, I'll be fair and spread the invalid entries around, all you have to do is timings before and after. Interested?
