problem with mouse : mouse hangs

I am having a problem. My mouse pointer becomes hang for 1/2 seconds and then it again works properly. during that hang period, my othe application runs properly, just the mouse pointer doesn't move for 1/2 seconds. it was a serious and it happened once in 45 / 60 minutes. I didn't care it. But today, few minutes ago, it became a serious problem. The pointer hangs so frequently. It's quite hard to use the mouse. What can I do ? It's best to wait until you're finished in the Malware forum before tinkering about with anything else on the system.

In fact if you have an infection you should really avoid using the computer until the infection has been removed.
