    Hi
I'm looking for the lastest driver for a VIA/S3G Unichrome IGP chip set.
The version I have is 6.14.10.194

Don't know why they make it so hard to find the right driver. :(

    Any help?

    Thanks
    Geri

    Hi Geri,

Extract the RAR (I prefer 7-ZIP if you don't already have an extractor) and run the setup program inside the 2KXP folder. ;)

    Hi Geri

Save the file to your hard drive directly, not to the Desktop and run from there. Some apps are not keen on running from the Desktop.

Happy New Year - keep up the good work :)

Geri It's a corrupt download, try downloading it again. I tried Dave's link and it works fine so it was probably just a bad transfer for you.

    Hi
    OK redownloaded saved to C:\

Still the same problem, CRC error.

To close the CRC error it goes through every file in the zip before the error window will close.

Just to confirm, are those CRC's happening during extract or after you try to run setup?

If it's during extract I can email you the one I got (I'll Zip it rather than RAR) if that helps?

    Hi Geri,

Run Error Checking (CHKDSK /r) on the C: drive.

A current data backup is advisable :)

    Hi Geri,

Email sent, but as I said in my PM it's just over 8MB, if this is a problem for your mailbox/provider let me know and I'll split the zip over a few emails.

    Hi Wildfire
    Thanks that worked.

Did not solve my problem, but I have the new version installed.

The problem is, I bought a new game for my grandson...BattleField 2142

    I get a BF2142.exe error with the file renddx9.dll

EA said it was because I did not have the lastest driver for my video adapter.
    I emailed them.
Now lets see what they say??

    Thanks
    Geri

The latest drivers are still a few years old, I'm not familiar with your HP or the game but perhaps the computer is simply not able to provide the graphics power the game requires?

    Thanks
I seen and tried the deletion of the battlefield folder in my doc's did not help.

    OK that don't sound good.

I'll see what EA has to say first, I'd like the game to work, but not at the expence of messing up my machine.

    Hi All
OK I guess I need a Video Card, the chip won't cut it. Also need it for Roxio 2009 I just got.

So I've look around and I'M SO CONFUSSED. If some one could help me out here.

I would like a decent one, but without having to change everthing in my system.

I have a HP Pavilion a620n desktop PC.

I read some where that it has a 250 watt power supply and that would not be good enough for a video card??

    Thanks

The requirements for Battlefield are .....

256 MB video card supporting 1.4 shaders (ATI Radeon X700 / NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT or above)

    For Roxio 2009 .....

    http://www.roxio.com/enu/upgrade_center/emc/include/sysreq.html

A lot less specific than for Battlefield, but I think DirectX 9 compatible is the key.

Your HP Pavilion a620n has an AGP slot - see Motherboard specifications
Looking at New Egg - seeing you're the other side of the pond :) .......

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2000380048 1069609639&name=AGP 4X/8X

Any of those with 256 Mb Ram should suffice - I would go for nVidia chipset out of personal preference, nothing wrong at all with ATI :)

The card should take no more than 75 watts, probably less. Googling for replacement power supplies for your computer suggests a 300W - could not find any info at HP on this.
