    Hi,

I still haven't installed SP3 on my computer (Windows XP) and am wondering what the latest information is on this.

I hesitated because of the problems. I now have one of my Yahoo Group members asking me if it is safe to install SP3, now.

Most of the information availabe is from May of this year so just wanted an update.

    Thank you,

The problems with SP3 are affecting a very limited number of installations. I have installed SP3 on a number of computers with no problems at all and no one who would regard me as their first "support option" have had any problems (I would know about them). As far as I know, there will be no changes to SP3 so "it's now or never" because it won't get any "better ".

It isn't necessary to install SP3. It introduces very few changes to the operating system and is more of an "updates rollup ". An option is to put SP3 on hold until a reinstallation is needed and to integrate SP3 in the XP CD by Slipstreaming Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Create Bootable CD.
