    Like Wildfire said, if you have an internet connection then you should be able to activate windows with no problem. If you can't activate windows over the internet then you will have to call Microsoft and activate windows over the phone.

    [1] when I click on the balloon the activation interface opens with the options to activate over the internet or phone
    [2]yes m8 I format the drive and started from square 1 thanks for your help

    So select the internet option, if that fails select the phone option and you'll be given appropriate instructions for your area.

    You can use Magic Jellybean to find your product key but I still don't understand why you need it. It has been a while since I activated XP though so I'm probably just going senile :eek:
