    Hi guys,

I'm in a jam and I really need some help. :(

At work there is a department we recently upgraded (Friday) to Office 2007 from 2003. The upgrade seemed to go ok, except for Outlook. Now, when Outlook is opened it pops up an error message saying it was not shut down properly last time and that the mailbox may have been damaged. Then it goes about the process of checking that mailbox for corruption before it will finally open. It does this every time it's closed and opened again.

But that's not all. Once Outlook 2007 finally opens I get this in the system tray "A data file did not close properly the last time it was used and is being checked for problems. Performance might be affected while the check is in progress ".

There are .pst files that it complains about. All of them worked fine in 2003. The person whose machine this happened to, was very worried about this upgrade and now i'm faced with this when he comes back Monday. It seems like once everything gets checked it runs ok, it's just that very long startup and error checking that takes about 10 minutes.

I had a problem with this before, and never figured it out...other than it was caused by .pst files created in 2003 that 2007 apparently did not like. The way we solved it then was to just close those archive folders. That is not an option this time, as this person uses them for reference all the time.

Right now I have the application opened and minimized with the screen locked until he comes in on Monday. It won't be apparent that there is something wrong until he closes it and tries to re-open it.

I have got to get this fixed quickly. What do I do, someone please help. :(

    Hi,
Iwould suggest that if you have a valid installation cd, Try reparing the application.
If you have used, you know what....( a cracked Version) Then I am afraid it has a trojan or worm that is preventing it. Most types of these versions are not fully executable, You Know!!!
