Media Player 9 HELP!

About 75 percent of my movies and such do not correctly play with media player 9. But our good friends microsoft included no uninstall for this "quality" program. They say the only way to get rid of it is to run system restore.........which is idiotic, and i have system restore disabled because it just slows stuff down and never works right anyways. Please please tell me there is some other way..........because when i try to go back and use 7.1 it will not work now.....it says there is an internal error,

According to CNet, ZDnet, PCWorld and a couple of newsgroups, you're just flat outta' luck. There is no way to get rid WMP 9 except to restore the system to a point before it was installed...or, I suppose, a reformat/reinstall. MS says this is "by design" and "it's supposed to work this way." Apparently, WMP 9 fiddles with the entire OS.

Hopefully, somebody will figure out a way to get rid of v. 9 since there seem to be a lot of people having trouble with it.

I'd love to sit and debate the restore feature with you.

But instead...perhaps you'd have better luck with doing a restore from a command prompt?
