I have one PC on my network that will not show up in my network group, all the others are ok and can see and access the files.
I have read through a lot of posts and tried some suggestions from these posts but I still can't get it to work.

I am using XP pro on all pc's and it has two wireless connections and the pc thats not showing is connected by cable. I can find the pc when I do a search in the network page and log on to all the drives ok .
But when I search for the pc from my laptop it finds the pc ok but it says folder unknown in the group folder, I might be wrong but should it not say my workgroup name there.

    thanks Flack .

Thanks for the reply yes they are all the same Workgroup. everything works on the network like if I search for the pc thats not showing in the network group using explorer it finds it ok and I can browse the drives I just can't see it in the workgroup list of pc's.

Is "file and printer sharing" set for that specific PC? Has it the "Client for Microsoft Networks" protocol installed?

Yes to both your questions...I have used ipconfig /all and the node is set to unknown, having read some posts on here could that be the problem ????

Which firewall are you using? Have you allowed LAN access in it ?

Try uninstalling the QoS packet scheduler (shown in Connection properties - above TCP/IP)

With my firewall, sometime I have to go the the other PC and manually add the PC's IP address thats not showing up in the firewall's LAN settings.
