From the specs I saw, the only audio output on a Bravia is a headphone socket, the rest are inputs. You could try running from that (unless you can find other audio outputs). The sound will only be in stereo though.

there's a stereo audio output and a digital audio output for it.
what's the digital audio output for?
is there any way i can make the sound quality a 5.1 sound quality?

Check the connections are outputs and not inputs.

Digital audio output sounds hopeful, but it is not High Definition. Check what output the TV has by looking at the User Guide/manual (I could not find any manuals by searching at Sony).

    See if this explains anything
    http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/82
It shows the digital connectors on page 2.

You then need a coaxial cable to connect to a coaxial/digital input on your PC's soundcard (if I read it correctly).

If your soundcard (motherboard for built-in audio) doesn't have a digital input, you can buy a PCI or PCIe (maybe USB) soundcard that has it.

I looked for a "digital to 5.1 channel converter ", but started getting confused when looking at the connections and some were priced over $2000.

Sorry if I can't help you much further.

The red and white connectors will give you stereo (2 channel) output. You would just need an RCA to miniplug adapter.
