When using Backup MyPc to backup by HD to an external drive, the backup stopped and I got the following message:

"An error occurred while flushing a file to the media "

Any idea what the cause/solution is?

    I'm using XP Home

Does it interfere with the completion of the backup?

I'd guess it may be trying to access some file that is active and Windows won't allow it, such as the paging file. If that's the case, you could ignore the error since you don't need to backup that type of file anyway.

I'm not familiar with the backup program that you mentioned but most current backup software will ignore active files without any complaints. The really good one can access almost any file necessary.

    surferdude2,

Thanks for the comments. Yes, the backup was halted. I'm going to try it again shortly and will report back.
