[Active] rundll32.exe issues

I am new to the forums and came here out of desperation as i am at my wits end.
I know many of the vets here are tired of the rundll topics but I have run into a dead end.
Here's what happened and what I've done.
I noticed my system became sluggish lastnight but didn't think much of it as I just got done rotoscoping in after effects.
This morning my browser firefox was taking way to long to load so I checked my task mgr.
In there I found:
1 xpre.exe
2 prunnet.exe
3 stf7.tmp
4 gadcom.exe
Ran spybot as well as my AVG and cleaned all of it out. Didi this in safemode with restore turned off
Now...every hour on the hour I get the error sound coming from my system but no message is displayed. Once I noticed this was a timed event I watched tsk mgr and was looking for anything that tried to run using the rundll32.exe. But to no avail the runddl32.exe was the only thing that popped up along with the error sound.
Checked to make sure with win search that there were no other versions of the dll anywhere on the system. non were found 'cept for the original.Just to be sure I pulled a copy of it from the XP pro CD and replaced it.
So...it seems to me that the version I have is fine as it is MS signed.
Checked msconfig for start ups...no rundll32.exe was listed. Checked HKLM/software/MS/run...nothing there either listing the dll.
So...something is definately try to start this service every hour, but can't figure out what to do from here.
I would really like to solve this without a clean install as I am in the process of post production on a fan film and can't afford the downtime of clean install adn reinstall.

First, please turn System Restore back on. Better to have an infected restore point should something go wrong during cleanup than none at all.

Now, we need to get a better look at things. Please download DDS and save it to your desktop.

• Disable any script blocking protection
• Double click dds.scr to run the tool.
• When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
  1. DDS.txt
  2. Attach.txt
• Save both reports to your desktop.

Please include the contents of both logs in your next reply. The scan will instruct you to post the attach log as an attachment. No need for that though ..... just post it as you would any other log.
