    Thanks for reading.
I am a beginner so if you can help please explain in beginner language.:)

I am trying to conduct a manual restore point on my computer. There is a box that asks for a description of the time you want to restore computer to. I have entered several dates and it always says " system restore point successfully created. Yet, when I go and do the restore, it will only restore to the last date which is listed as an option.

How can I create a restore point, that will go back at least 30 days.

I am not going to post here with details the reason I am trying to do a restore point but if you are intersted in helping please see my post in forum under internet explorer. I am having a problem with scrolling using arrows.

    Thanks

    Thomas,

To help other readers, Thomas' scrolling thread can be found here.

I think what you might be looking for can be found by selecting Restore my computer to an earlier time instead of Create a Restore Point. When you select the bold option, you will be presented with a calendar that lists restore points by date in bold text and includes a brief description of the restore point itself.

Before you run the System Restore function, I would like to first suggest trying something else. Navigate to your Control Panel and select Add or Remove Programs. Look though that list of installed applications and see if you find the IE Toolbar you referenced in your other thread. If found, remove it. If not found, close out Add or Remove Programs and then close the Control Panel. Now, open your IE Browser and select Tools, then from the drop down menu that appears, select manage add-ons. Search through these and see if that mysterious IE Toolbar Program appears here. If yes, disable it. If no, then you can try Restoring your computer to an earlier time.

Let us know how you make out & good luck.

    ;)

    System Restore

    Thanks Rockster

Anyone having problem with their scroll arrows with IE please see my other post for it may help you save time and frustration:confused:.

I will look into the above suggestion, very soon for my own knowledge and the repsonse was greatly appreciated.

(my scrolling problem was resolved by uninstalling IE 8 beta 2)

    :)

    Thomas,

I saw your other thread earlier. I'm glad this turned out the way it did as you had first stated that you didn't think it was IE8 and were having trouble remembering just what you installed. In the future, it may be helpful to keep a small notebook near your computer so you can write down important things, including software installations. This may sound very basic but you might want to try it for a while and see if its of any help.

    ;)
