Yesterday I noticed that Windows was saying that My Hard Drive Size is 74.5 GB, and that 34.9 GB is free. Well that means I've used 39.6 GB.

Thats a problem, there is no way that I've used that much space. Just guessing, I estimated that there was a 10 to 15 GB problem. So I went through the computer and I found the problem

    C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\Log

contains about 18.6 GB of junk. OK, there are around 4,786 text documents (each around 4 MB) that I CANNOT delete. I've even turned off Avast and still was not able to delete these files.

These files are NOT imortant, how do I get rid of them??

Thanks to both of you, its fixed. Now I need to figure out how to limit the size of that folder.

I just cannot imagine why I would need 18 GB of log files

    Again, thanks for the help

Look for an option to disable logging. I'm not familiar with Avast.
