confused in explorer looking for OE

I recently upgraded my machine and installed a new Mother Board and HD. I took my original HD and named it F: and my new drive is C: Rinning Win XP Pro The F: Drive was running on 98 prior to upgrade.

When I go to the F: drive in Explorer and look for OE 6 and try to gather my old mail and address books I cant find it. I find the new version that installed on C: Drive when I loaded XP-Pro. I cant understand other programs are sitting their. I just cant find my old OE 6, only the new version sitting on drive F for some unknown reason.

What about just switching drives.......going in and getting what you need....and switching back?

thats what I am doing when I go in the old drive and open OE it appears to be the new version installed on the new drive there is no data ie my addresses and old mail the WAB is empty and just shows what i put in the new version running on the new drive with XP Pro the old drive was WIN 98.

You mean you've physically switched drives...or are trying to just go through your new drive letter?

I simply switch from my slved "C" drive to "f" drive wich is my old HD that use to be win 98 I did not uninstall Windows in fact I did nothing to the drive. I can find many of the old programs I just cant find my Old OE on it. When I find OE under program files it's a exact copy of what was put on "c" when i loaded XP-PRO.

If I understand correctly, you're trying to open the copy of OE which is on the F drive...originally the C drive. The problem is that when OE was originally installed, all its files (inbox, store folder, dlls, whatever it needs) were on C. So, no matter which drive the "msimn.exe" you're using is located, it's going to look for and use the files on the C drive.

To get your old messages and address book back into the functioning copy of OE on the C drive you need to use File>Import in OE....or you can try copying the .dbx files now located on the F drive over to the correct folder on the C drive. The address book is a .wab file and can also be copied over to the appropriate folder on the C drive.
