   How do I set IE6 to open new tabs?
   I typically use Firefox, so am unfamiliar w/ IE.

   IE6 does not support tab browsing. You need to update your version of ie to IE7 to do this.

   No more than any other program - you should be running it for the enhanced security it offers.
   
   I currently run the IE8 beta 2 with no issues, but suggest you upgrade to 7 ASAP.
