I don't know if my problem started with SP3 or if it was a problem before that.
I used to be able to view XML files with the viewer, now I get an error message that this type of file can't be opened by excel viewer(I have 2003 version). The file is called an excel worksheet. Xls. Does Xls need a different viewer? I tried opening it within word. No luck.

I tried using an on line file converter Zamzar and they couldn't open it.

    Any ideas?

Where did the file come from? Did it maybe come from someone using Office 2007?

I downloaded it from a website where my boss posts schedules. I tried another on line file converter and they couldn't change it to a doc either. How do I tell if they used office 2007?

So if I download and install the 2007 excel viewer, I can use it to look at files created for 2003 viewer? Should I uninstall 2003 viewer? I know with power point I had to install the 97 and 2003 to view all the files I have in power point.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll try and D/L another copy of the file first. maybe it's a corrupt file.
