Finally got vista system (so far, not impressed, hope it will grow on me).

Trying to determine which programs will work, not work with vista.
Focus right now is Perfect Disk 7.0. A search here and in software didn't
specifically say yes or no. Anyone know for sure?

Raxco has a new version with additional functions (and additional cost on sale for only $99.00).
I can't afford a hundred bucks right now for latest version just get a good
    defrag.

    Thanks,
    savagcl

PS: anyone know of a site having a good "How to" for partitioning vista?

    See: http://www.raxco.com/pd70_updates/whatsnew.htm

    Also: http://www.raxco.com/support/kb_detail.cfm?action=topsupport&kbid=501&prod=1&ver=7.0

Now, I doubt PerfectDisk 7 is compatible with Vista! The x64 compatibility they are talking about here is Windows XP Pro x64. PD7 was no longer available by the time Vista was released AFAIK.

Personally I wouldn't bother with a defragmenter for Vista. Vista's build-in defragmenter works fine.

Neither PerfectDisk nor Diskeeper work with Vista x64. I am using IOBIT's Smart Defrag which is freeware and defrags and optimizes to a greater level than the built in Vista defrag.
I would download it and use it until your favorite acknowledges Vista x64 exists. It is automated so you can "set it and forget it" to use a well known brands line.
