My nephew is putting a new system together. It has an asus p4s8x and p4 2.4ghz. He can not get windows to load on the system. He would like to run 2000 but also tried 98. Everytime he has tried to install either the install starts and then part way throught the install he get a error saying can not copy this file. He has changed HD, CD-R, and cables. The Windows 98 and 2000 installs OK on his old system. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem?

Could be a memory problem. Test your RAM. Reseat/swap out/replace modules etc.

It was a memory problem. After using different modules Windows installed without any problems.
