I have Windows XP PRO installed (at home with a small network) and wish to set up SHARES to restrict updating of files to some 'users' only.
I understand that I can only do this logged in as the 'administrator'.
It is a long time since I installed XP PRO and I seem to remember that during the installation I did NOT set up an ADMINISTRATOR. Is it possible to set up an 'administrator' once XP PRO has been installed? How?
    Thanks

An Administrator account should be set up by default - check out Control Panel > User Accounts.

If not setup a new User Account and assign administrative rights to it. However your account must have administrative rights otherwise you would be unable to alter OS settings, load software, etc.
