Can't play DVD

    Hi, I think I may have deleted something important as I can not play DVD on my PC. Is there any way of getting it back ? I think it was Power DVD. Cheers

    Power DVD is one piece of software for playing DVD's, but Windows Media Player 11 will do the same - are you given an Autoplay option to select a program when you insert the DVD?

    Open My Computer and right click on the DVD drive > Properties > Autoplay tab and set up the Autoplay options.

    If this is unsuccessful run the Autoplay repair wizard

    If you open Windows Media Player, insert the DVD - are you able to play it?

    Auto play is now working but this is my error - Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer.

    Just for future reference, if your windows media player or powerdvd are broken for any reason, you can also use VLC media player for movies and DVDs. It's got it's own decoders, so works independently of the above mentioned players.

    Also, it's free!
