Follow these instructions to post a Dump Data Log.

If you do not have a dump, ensure that your machine is configured to write out a dump by following the directions from microsoft

    Please note:

Arie; thanks for the info, and I can see a user.dmp file in dr watson, and I used the debugger program I got from this forum, it tells me when the dos window goes away it will leave me a log file in c:\ debug.log, but instead it left a folder that says symbols with a bunch of folders in it, and for example these folders are advapi32.pdb, ieframe.pdb, IEUI.pdb, iexplore.pdb, etc and like 13 more folders to go. I try to look in the but they seem encrypted, even though when I ran the debugger it ask where the debugging tools are so I chose the exe in the where I installed the debugger. I am new to this type stuff am I doing something wrong.

The Symbols folder was created when you installed the Dump Data Collection tool - the contents are necessary for the debugging of your .dmp file.

Your debug wiz window should look like the attachment - after the DOS window closes the results are to be found in C:\debuglog.txt, not c:\debug.log

If you are having problems uninstall the wizard and start over.

Thats what I did, it installed in "c" in programs called debugging tools, this is also the same place I have the debugWiz, and I open like it shows select the user.dmp and chose the cdb.exe, when it is done there is no debug.log in "c" although it says it will leave one.

The path to the Debugging tools should be filled in by default - if you have to browse for it then something is wrong.

Download a fresh copy of debugwiz.zip and try again.

Okay I uninstalled the debugging tools that was there, and got a new debugger wiz, and downloaded the debugging tools for 32 bit, not the newest release because thats the one I just had, so I got the next to newest release, I still have to browse for the user.dmp file, and click on advanced in the wiz, and still browse to point to the debugging tools, which is default C:\programs\debuggingtools, I tryd a few things here it tells me when it is done it will leave me a debuglog.txt in "c" it does not, after running this programm it leaves me a folder named symbols in "c" than that in the symbols folder there are a bunch of other folders, and at the bottom a pingme.txt file, other than that nothing more.

You seem to be having so many problems generating a dump log - which should be very straight forward using the debug wizard that it is time to ask you what problems you were having with the computer (should have asked before :(). I assume it is giving you a BSOD? Apart from the Stop Error is there any reference to a file.

What are you doing when the computer gives the BSOD? Are there any other problems which do not cause the computer to crash?

Okay yes it gives me the blue screen of death, only I dont get the blue screen with any info, as I have seen in the past, it just keeps rebooting, whenever I do things, sometimes it take a while sometimes it wont do it for a day or two. I go to school over the net, and sometimes it just reboots when it the middle of school work, this is very frustrating for me. I know I am doing what it says to do, why it does not give me a debuglog.txt in c I dont know, I opened event viewer and posted what that had, notice that when I open the windbg.exe it was asking for the sybowls so even in there I pointed it to that, and i posted what it said there.

As far as problems goes, my pc seems to be fine other than rebooting, I have done a memory tester that was run from unbuntu, a version of linux, that said my memory was fine, I did this because someone told me that it could be bad memory. It just reboots either when I am browsing, but not all the time or working with microsoft word for school, it seems like to me I run out of memory sorta, like when I start doing to much at once, which most of the time is not a lot. As far as generating a debuglog, I do as I was instructed, the debugging tools instal c:\ programs and when I run the debug wiz I have to broswe to put the user.dmp file, as well as point out the cdb.exe I hit generate, it say it will leave me the debuglog.txt in C:\debuglog.txt but it is not ever there. I dont think I am doing anything wrong.

Is this a desktop or laptop?
Please note the comment below .....
The only satisfactory way of testing RAM is to test the installed RAM in various configurations. If you have a single module swap it around the slots. If you have a pair of modules run each one singly, swapping between slots; then run them in pairs swapping between pairs of slots. If you have 2 sets of matched modules do not get them mixed up.
You should not be opening windebug.exe directly - just hit the Generate report button in the Debug wiz screen that I posted.

I will remind you or Arie's note ....
Despite the symbols problem this line stands out ....
I suggest you check your memory, noting ....

Yes I read your above post pete. With that in mind I went and bought some new ram, so far so good no reboot yet, but the night is not over yet, if it does not do it by 12pm sunday, then I will say that the ram must have been bad. Hopefull this new ram does the trick, if not Ill have to bacj up some school work and other stuff, and go with a new xp install. Thanks for your help.
