    Hi,

I've read some prev posts...and tried some suggestions but still have the following issues:

    2 desktops...XP Home SP2
Connected to same linksys router, wired
    Separate workgroups

Computer 1 - Printer connected to, file printer sharing on, printer shared "Dell "
    Firewall Off, Workgroup1

Computer 2 - FPS off, Firewall off, Workgroup2

Prev I was able to see the shares on Computer 1, as well as print to it. Rarely used, but when I went to do this today, I was unable to connect to the printer.

I can no longer see the workgroup of Computer 1.

Computer 1 can see Computer 2 but not vice versa.

What am I doing wrong? Any other questions please ask

    Thanks for your help

Put both comps on same workgroup.

Rt click My Comp icon on desktop > select Properties > Comp Name tab > Change button > change name of workgroup to a unique name.

    Repeat on second comp.

Enable File & Print Sharing on both.

    reboot both.

    Thanks for the reply.

I'm pretty sure this should work if they are in separate workgroups though right? I had it working before but I am not sure what has changed. Id prefer to keep them in separate workgroups if possible. Any other ideas?

No, XP Home computers must use the same workgroup name for Simple File Sharing.
    Start here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814003/

You WANT the comps in the same workgroup, but give each comp a different unique name.
