I recently had to do a windows reinstall. Ever since, I can't seem to re-connect to the internet through my DSL connection. After lengthy discussions with AT&T techs, we discovered that I no longer show any network adapters in my device manager. I'm between a beginner & an intermediate as far as computer knowledge goes...I know enough to get myself in trouble...hence the re-install. Is there a quick fix to this problem?

Just pop in the cd that came with the mobo or network adaptor and install the drivers.

Maybe you've solved the problem, but, if not try this. Go to your hard drive (c: for example) /drivers/LAN/EVO folder and select whatever exe. file that's there. It will install the driver for your network adapter. I spent over an hour with tech support to tell me everything but how to fix this problem. I almost gave up on getting on line with this box. Then I gave it a crack. It took me about 10 minutes. I'm in the wrong line of work I guess.

Thank You re: Network Adapter advice

Thank you both for the input. I found the CD that came w/ the install package for my DSL provider. The network adapter would show up after popping in the disk...but only temporarily! It would just vanish for some reason. To save what's left of my hair, I gave up, and ended up, buying a new network adapter...did the trick! Interesting tip though, ununcle, I'll save it...just in case.

All you needed was a program called Everest,It will identify your network card and then you just download the drivers for your make and model..
