I bought my first pc-game ever:installed the game, took a test ride. The game was OK, but I thought the sounds were not working correctly.

My system is new, so I decided first to uninstall and then reinstall the game.
Now, when i put the CD-Rom into the machine and try to reinstall, the result is the following message:

"The currently installed configuration (full) can not run with your system. The following components fail:
    Software: none
    Hardware: none
    System:
    -windows System
    some files have been erased"

Again, when I try to install via Installer dialog box of the game, installer is not working.

    Windows task manager tells me:
" Installer, status Not Responding. "

And further, after ending the task:
"Please tell Microsoft about this problem "
I accordingly sent an error report to Microsoft.

    My computer system:
    windows XP professional version 2002

How can I reinstall those misssing system files

    Simple problem...:)

There are two things you can do.
    1. Roll your system back using System restore
    2. put the Windows XP CD back in the drive, and reinstall
This gives you the option of restoring system files the way that they were prior to the game deleting your system files.

As a side note, when you start to uninstall a program, any file that is being removed from the game folder go ahead and delete it, any file anywhere near the C:\Windows leave it alone and do NOT permit it to be removed. Just because the program is no longer using it, does not mean that other programs aren't using it...

    Enjoy and keep posted...:)

    A few years back...

A few years back a very good friend of mine, also bought a CD Game for his computer.
Inserted the CD, installed, and had to reformat the entire HDD.

He tried this CD in 3 different computers in his house, on each same results.
The install program made hash work of his OS.

He kept telling me that he was reserving that particular CD for someone VERY special...:)

People always came to him to solve their computer woes, and often they faulted on paying him later...
I wonder if he still has that CD...?
