I currently use IE6, is it worth me changing to IE7?

Also, if I do use IE7 should I uninstall IE6 first?

    THANKS

Hi kesher. I would upgrade to IE7 because it has new features and is much more secure against malware. You can't uninstall IE6 so you just run the setup for IE7. After its installed you can take a look at all the new features.

I would go further - IE 8 beta 2 The latest version is stable and has improved security over 7.

Difference in opinion here Pete. I wouldn't advise anyone using Beta software on anything other than a test system. However, you are more in the know about IE 8 than I am so I'll bow to your greater knowledge.

The only reason I point this out is others may think after reading this that Beta software in general is OK when in general it is quite risky.

Fair comment, but IE 8 is being pushed very publically by MS and is intended for general consumption and released with that in mind. It is the second beta. I can confirm that it uninstalls on XP to roll back to 7 seamlessly.

Although you say IE6 cannot be uninstalled, there are many websites which say it can be uninstalled. Please could you clarify this for me?

If you wish to install IE7 then there is no need to remove IE6. As far as uninstalling IE6 it's probably possible to remove most of it but unless you wish to get rid of IE completely (not advisable) then don't worry about it.
