Hi. I do hope someone can advise me on what to do. I just got my portable and installed Xp2 Pro. I was successful in installing it and downloading the drivers but when I was downloading IE7, the error "unknown publisher" popped out. I also can't seem to do windows update- keeps on failing. So I did a complete reinstallation once again but when it came to downloading IE7 and windows updates- I got the same problem. What am I doing wrong here? Hope somebody can help me through this. Thanks!

    Hi,

    Try this..

My Computer right click properties->Hardware->Driver Signing->Select the first option "IGNORE ". And also make it as a default administrator option...

    This will be helping you,

    Regards,
    Syed Arifuddin.

Where are you downloading IE7 from? Make sure you get it from Microsoft.

Cocoy, are you downloading IE7 manually from the link Arie provided or were you using Windows Update to download IE7? Does IE7 download at all or does it download but not run?

Followed the Microsoft link, still can't do it. When it's like 95% or 96% complete, it shows "unknown pulisher" error. Tried this already:

    - Diabling automatically detect intranet network checkbox, enabling the include all networks paths checkbox option, still no go.

Doe your system contain this registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\IEAK7

To check, you need to run regedit from Start > Run
