Downloaded Visual Basic thanks - Now able to run ATF cleaner and it removed a bunch of files so that seems OK. I have re-installed Ubuntu and that is now working so I can continue building my learning curve.
It mus be the early hours of the morning there, don't you guys ever sleep? Or is WBBS like the emergency services, 24/7?.
I will run Kapersky shortly and send the log but, hopefully, I won't have anything left to whinge about. Hope you're new president gets everything sorted!
Thanks again for your help and I hope that the Kapersky log is the last thing I need to send.

Great! Click Start>Run and type ComboFix /u then hit Enter to uninstall ComboFix and remove the files it has quarantined. This action will also reset the System Restore points, removing any infected files there as well.
Verify the C:\Qoobox and C:\ComboFix folders were removed, as well as the C:\ComboFix.txt file.
You can also delete RSIT.exe and the C:\rsit folder.
You can delete any other logs that were created/saved too.

Now run ATF Cleaner once again as previously described.

That should be a wrap. Any other issues persist?
