XP Pro SP3 doesn't recognize COMODO v3.5...

I did the update of COMODO Pro v3.0 to v3.5 using the "Check for Updates" feature this morning. Now Windows no longer recognizes it as a valid firewall (see my post in General Security: http://www.windowsbbs.com/general-security/78329-comodo-firewall-pro-update.html#post424602)

Anyone know how/where Windows ID's a a legitimate firewall?

 

Other than setting the security panel to ignore I'm guessing you'll have to wait for an update.

You said in the other thread it was not your preferred solution, can I ask why?

 

I can always use a helping hand from Windows to monitor whether my firewall is up and running. I would much rather Windows did recognize that my firewall was really a firewall.

 

But if an easy fix such as what you were asking was available surely it'd be easy enough for your local neighbourhood trojan to be recognised as a firewall by windows?
