Hi, Haven't used works for a while and when I tried to run it last night the task wizard says it can't find some files.
I uninstalled and did a full install and it still will not run.
I may have deleted a shared windows file at some time is all I can think of.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks, Franki52

    Hi Frankie52
    Welcome to the boards.
Is that the full and complete error message that you're getting? That it can't find some files?

    *edit*
Having said that......you've done a recent and updated virus scan lately?

    Just for elimination purposes:
Perhaps just use a free online scanner such as:
    Grisoft
    Housecall
    Panda
    Symantec

    And for Trojans.....might I suggest:
    Tauscan

Hi Daizy, yes I have ran a virus scan.
The exact message when I click on new document is,
The Works Task Launcher does not have information about the program you were using when you opened Task Launcher. try Reinstalling the program. Or to create a blank document in a works program, click the New Document button on the toolbar.
When I try to use Task Launcher it says,
Works cannot access one or more required files. The files may have been renamed, deleted, or moved. Try reinstalling Works, and then starting the program again.
Shouldn't there be templates to pick from on the left side of the screen? Mine is blank.
Thanks for any help you might can give me.

Grasping at straws here....but try this:
Right-click on an unused area of the desktop (not over any existing program or shortcut icon).
Point to New, and then click Shortcut.
In the Command line box, type the following line (including the quotation marks):
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Works\WksWP.exe "
    Click Next.
In the Select a name for the shortcut box, type Works 2000 Word Processor.
    Click Finish.

GOT IT! I discovered when I uninstalled useing the cd, all it did was delete the shortcuts. The files still remained.
So I deleted them and ran regclean and reinstalled.
    Everything is fine now.
    thanks, Frankie52
