I have been having trouble with Firefox 3 crashing after I exit so I have downloaded Opera 9.6. It seems fine. Does anyone prefer Opera to Firefox? I used Firefox 2 for quite a while & got quite used to it. I like Firefox 3 but the crash brake pad is driving me mad. I know Opera was a little unfashionable at one time but what does anyone think about it?

hello Davezilla. I use Opera for about 90% of my online time. I especially like the Speed Dial. No need to sort through favorite to find one you want. And WAY faster than Firefox or IE.

You know, regardless of what anyone says about Opera, it scrolls faster than Firefox & doesn't seem any slower to me. In fact I would say that it loads faster. The forums & community seem really good as well. I think I will be a convert!;)

Well davezilla I have been using opera since 7.0 and it just keeps getting better. I never got on the firefox bandwagon but I do have it -3.03 and it's without a doubt a resource hog. In a nutshell tweak opera to your liking and you will never look back....

Yeah, I keep discovering really cool things with it. The 'magic' wand allows me into sites previously I had to try & memorise ridiculous passwords that they gave me. Firefox wouldn't do it with some sites, even though it claimed it had remembered my password . They say Opera 10 is going to be really something.

After all that nonsense with Fx 3 it would take a lot to get me to go back. I think Mozilla have tried to re-invent the wheel for some reason...& failed. I don't miss it at all. :D

    Opera v Firefox

I am a long time opera user and like it very much. The only big difference that I see is that

    firefox has more addons
    opera has very few plugins

For opera, you need to manually block ads. There is no adblock.

I agree with you, it is much cleaner and faster.

Yeah, I have been looking at that. I am not sure what it all means yet!
