Does "Quick Reply" work correctly?

Something seems to have changed in the last week or two with the "Quick Reply" option on messages. Now when I enter a "Quick Reply" and press "Submit ", my screen goes blank white. After I cancel out of that screen and look at the message thread, I find that my comment HAS been posted correctly. Everything else seems to be OK, so I don't know what the problem is. Any suggestions or comments?

Thought I would post a "Quick Reply" to your post to see what my machine does. I will post another as soon as I see.

When I hit "Post Quick Reply ", I was immediately taken back to your post with my post just below yours. I didn't get a white screen. This is also another "Quick Reply ".

    Roger,

My apologies. I just made a couple of quick posts and didn't offer any possible resolution/solution - mainly because I don't have any. I thought that some of the experts here on this board might be able to help you more quickly if they knew what another machine was doing in the same situation. No doubt one of those experts will come cruising by to fix your problem shortly.

Ok, now I'm doing a quick reply myself to see if it does the same thing.

Same problem. In fact, the previous screen still says "Loading...." even though I am now on a new screen and typing this message. I'm using Firefox, Windows XP Pro, nothing fancy at all.

The previous screen is STILL there, still blank white except for the Mozilla Firefox toolbar at the top. My guess is that when I press "Post Quick Reply" I will get the same thing on this screen. Here goes......

Sure enough - now there are TWO tabs at the top of my Firefox screen, both of which say "Loading...." with a little circle of dots going around. And both of the Firefox screens are white except for the toolbar at the top with the tabs. Very consistent error.

    Roger,

I just did a test in the Other-Test Posts forum using Firefox (possibility the problem was Firefox) and the Quick Reply seems to work fine on my machine using either IE7 or Firefox 3.0. So maybe one of the experts can help.

Post Quick Reply worked correctly on my machine with IE 7, so I guess it must be Firefox. Thanks for the idea to try IE 7, Virginia. I "ll check Firefox updates.

Tested & QR doesn't work with FF 3.01. The forum software was updated some time ago, so that might have been the time you mention.

I'll check into it when I get back home after 11/1.

I "m using Firefox/3.0.3, so it doesn't work there either.
