I have a new job and need a software for documents they email me to open and update information to the documents, which are from 2003 Word or excel; I bought Microsoft works 9 seeing it had word processor with and hoping it would work well it opens it but can't scroll over far enough to see the hole page, anyway I down loaded the 2007 trial and all is fine but my question is whats the difference in all the versions< like student and teacher, academic, . Actually can I just buy the 2007 upgrade sense I have MS 9 and install that beibg its the cheapest.

The MS Office site is a minefield :) Eventually tracked down the requirements for upgrading .....

For Word 2007 you can upgrade from .....
    Version differences here ....

Student ,teacher, academic are for those in full time education - proof required.

Actually, I don't think they offer old style Student, Teacher, Academic versions anymore.

There is Office Home and Student 2007, but it does not require the buyer actually be a student or teacher.
