Printing from internet

Since I had some repairs done on my PC, I can't print off the internet. Well, I can, but whether its internet or e-mail it comes out as gobbledegook and in black and white. I have IE 5. The printer works fine in Word.

This happened to me last year, and I took it to a shop where they fiddled with it and "did something" that made it work. What could this something be? I think it might be a setting button somewhere.

Any ideas - this is ruining my computer enjoyment.
