I have recently installed an internal V90 modem. When trying to use the Outlook dialer it responds with a mesage that "Auto dialer has encountered an internal error ".
If I Use Hyper terminal the AT commands respond OK.
    Has anyone a solution please??

There are numerous problems with many different modems.

    How old is the modem?
    What is the OS?
What version of Outlook are you using?
    Did it ever work?
Is there an init string in the Outlook configuration?

I expect you have changed modems. When you do that, you need to reconfigure the settings to use the new modem.

Go to Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Connections tab. If there is an "old" connection listed and no new connection, make a new connection, configured for the new modem (you can use the old connection as a template), then set it as default.

Look in Phone and Modem Options -> Modems tab, if the old modem is still listed and you are not going to use it, you can delete (Remove) it.

Check Outlook is configured. In Outlook, go to Tools -> Accounts -> Mail tab and check it is set to use your ISP's mail server.

You may find helpful information at your ISP's website.

Check that settings are "aimed" at the new modem and not the old one.

Hmmm, are you intending that Outlook dial the contact for faxing purpose, or for initiating a voice call?

There are a set of Hayes commands you can use to query the modem for its capabilities.
More than just responding in Hyperterm, the desired features need to be usable with the installed driver.
