Windows 2K Pro, SP4, SONY Laptop.

Tried to update to IE7 from IE6 and got message that the cryptographic
service wasn't running so it couldn't update.
Looking at services, cryptographic wasn't even listed (search couldn't find it).
Checking the web, it said the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service
had to be running. There are 2 RPC services, one was set to
    automatic, the other was Manual.
Checking the web further, i saw a list of about 10 dlls that needed to
be running so that the crypto could run. I enabled all these dlls
using "regsvr32 /u xxxx.dll" then again without the "/u" option.

All these dlls were loaded and started except for licdll.dll. This was not
found on the system but the web says its not a critical component.

I found a copy of the licdll.dll on the web, installed it into
winnt\system32. A reboot and check of services
showed nothing as far as the crypto service.being activated guess the
    licdll.dll didnt work....

Problem how do i get crypto service running when its not even on the
    system.

    I'm lost. Thanks,
    savagcl

Below are the minimum requirements your computer needs to run Internet Explorer 7
    Operating System
Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3), Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

    Hi Steve,

Unless I'm reading your message wrong, IE7 will not run on Win2k?

    Thanks for replying,

That is correct Savagcl. Internet Explorer 7 does not run on Windows 2000.

Can't access the Net after installing IE7

Has anyone else had a problem accessing the Internet after installing IE7? I've tried twice now. Each time, I've had to use System Restore to go back to IE6, after which everything works just fine.
