When I click on the security center icon in the task bar the working symbol will display for about 10 seconds or so and then nothing will happen. I get a security center alert every time I boot up but I can not access the center to find out what it is.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

The different parts of Windows Security can be accessed separately in Control Panel. They are Windows Update, Windows Firewall, Windows Defender and Internet Options. Try opening each one of those and see if there is a problem.

Try starting the Security Center, after a little while, look in Event Viewer (see Help and Support) for any errors that are occurring. You can single-click and double-click the error listing to get more information.
