Support File Cannot be Found

Hi Everyone

Ok I'll do my best to explain the problem. I have an SB Audigy 2 ZS. I want to uninstall Creative MediaSource.
Add/Remove Programs shows this message, " An installation support file could not be installed ".

I think this has something to do with my Nec DVD+ -RW ND 3450A, I have Sonc 7 RecordNow installed. Both of these I can remove, but installing the Sonic program also shows the same message for Creative Mediasource.

I did try to reinstall my SB Audigy & Creative Meidasource but that did not work.

So it comes down to a driver issue. I am no genius with this stuff but I am hoping someone might have an idea or solution.

I gave up and clean reinstall for XP, problem solved. But if anyone else runs in to this don't waste your time calling the folks at Creative. The only thing they willl tell ya is reinstall the OS, mostly cuz they don't wanna deal with the older programs.

Any after I did my reinstall I discovered what casued the problem, go figure. Some where during the MS Updating process the MultiMedia Adapter Drives were lost, prolly overwritten. Reinstall those and the problem goes away.
