I've got a 2005 Buick Century with a CD player in it. I'd like to be able to write a CD and play my own files. I tried to writing a .MP3 file to both a CD-RW disk and a CD-R disk but neither one worked. Does anybody have any idea how I can write a disk that this player can play? Or where I should ask this question? The Buick user manual is no help at all.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

CDs and CD players are on the cusp of obsolesence. You should be able to drag-and-drop almost any music format into something like Roxio and burn a music CD that will play on anything. Even in Wapello.

What I've got is a program called Sonic RecordNow that came with my Dell computer. It burns files onto CD-R's or CD-RW's with no problem. That's what I used to copy my mp3 file to the CD. Do I have to do something special to make it a music CD, or to make it playable by the car's CD player?

Problem solved ! The Sonic program has an option that I hadn't noticed before to "write an audio CD" I tried it and it worked.

    Thanks for your response.
