In previous versions of Netscape (6.2 and 4.7), you could easily click and drag the bookmark icon next to the url to the bookmark name on the personal toolbar and drop your bookmark into the folder of choice. I just installed Netscape 7 and this is not working. The only thing that works is you can drag the bookmark icon into the sidebar with the bookmark tab selected and drop the bookmark where you want. Has anyone else noticed problem. I don't care to have my sidebar opened to do this.
    Thanks

    Welcome to the Forum, cjjh!

    Hi cjjh,

You can drag a Bookmark from the Location Bar to the Personal Toolbar, by catching the small icon next to the URL and dragging it anywhere on the Personal Toolbar.

You can use Bookmarks|File Bookmark, then browse to the appropriate folder. I disable the Sidebar, so I don't even go there.

    Thanks for your feedback.

I am aware of the methods you mentioned to bookmark urls. For me, it is always easier to just drag the icon over the word bookmarks on the personal toolbar, wait for the dropdown box to open up, and then drag the icon to the folder I want to save the bookmark. This has always worked in previous versions of Netcape, but not in 7. Have you tried it yet in 7?
This also works in IE by draging the icon over the word favorites on the menu bar and releasing the favorite in the folder of your choice. This is much easier than using the File/bookmarks method.
Let me know what you think.
    Thanks again for your help:)

    Hi cjjh,

Unfortunately that feature hasn't been included in 7.0. I believe it was doable in 6.2, but then disabled. If you want to make a suggestion to the "Powers That Be" to include this feature in future updates:
    http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/7/feedback/default.jsp

I would love to see it re enabled, and it was just so darned handy!

Instead of trying to drag the link, click on the little Icon next to the url. This should open up a box with all of your folders in it.

Then you can click on the folder that you want and put the bookmark there. You still can't drag and drop, but it is a lot easier than using the sidebar.

    Hey Brooks,

That's  ! Gives you the same option as CTRL+Shift+D.

 Thanks for the feedback on where to send comments. I just did so. I can't believe they would disable such a great feature. It is such a time saver and could actually be the turning point of me moving back to netscape after having to use IE for the last year due to the poor early versions on IE6. I would like nothing better than to leave IE behind so I hope this featured gets added back on. Thanks again and I look forward to using this forum more often.

    Hey Ramona.

I don't remember how I found that one, I learned that one during all those times using the Mozilla beta. It may have been something I saw on the Mozilla Newsgroup.

Now, if they will just fix the sorting of the bookmarks, and allow draggin and droppin in them, I will be happy.

    Brooks,
Another nice tidbit for bookmarking, but as you guys have said, it would just be easier to manage those bookmarks with clicking and dragging as opposed to needing to go into the manage bookmarks window. It is so nice in IE to move bookmarks into different folders and automatically sort by name with the right click of a mouse. These bookmark features in IE make it hard to learve.
    Thanks for the comments:)

I found other features that I love so much, that I have a hard time going back to IE :D

Personally, I love tabbed browsing and the ability hightlight a word, right click on it and send it directly to google as a search.

I really like the email client better than Outlook or OE. To me it is simpler and easier to use.

Plus, I cannot give up my Skypilot skin :D
