I have a problem and I hope someone can help me with it. I have a Toshiba Qosmio G35 that is running XP Media Edition. When I turn the power on I get this message:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
    system32\drivers\KR10n.sys

Ihave tried everything I know to fix it but have not been successful, as yet.
I bought this as a refurbished item and the recovery cd's and paperwork I have all came with it. When I try to do a recovery it comes up "WRONG MACHINE!" I tried a XP bootable disk and it does not help either. It does D\L the files and drivers but not the one I need. What can I do?

What is the best way to get them loaded? I can't get past that screen.

Ok I have them now. I still am having trouble getting them on my computer. I have set the bios to read the cd rom first but it will not recognize the files to d\l them. Any advice?

When you set the BIOS to read the CDRom first, that is for booting up the computer. Booting the computer with the CD is not what you need to do.
You need to have windows running, then execute the setup files on the CD.
When you are booting your computer, be pressing the F8 key repeatedly. This will bring up the Boot Menu, then select Safe Mode. Try installing the RAID first.

It won't let me get that far. It starts to come on and the goes to the dreaded system32\drivers\KR10n.sys missing or corrupt. I can get to the bios and it will let me boot from my XP boot cd but it does not d\l the missing file and then it restarts and goes to the error screen again. I tried putting the files on a bootable cd but it will not recognize it. My backup cd that came with the computer will load but then throws up a wrong machine message and stops. I am trying to explain this as clearly as possible...lol. Windows never loads up.

There is a another method as you seem to have a CD burner available. The RAID drivers come in an self extracting file. When it is first started up, a window will appear prompting for confirmation of which folder to extract to. There is also an option for running the installation file after extraction, uncheck this box. When the files are extracted, a folder is created called Drivers, with a folder named KRN within. Burn the file "KR10n.sys" onto a CD.\

Use your XP boot CD to get the computer up, and start the Recovery Console. Instructions on how to start it below, you do not need to install it.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307654

When the console running, switch CD's then use this command to copy the file over. This assumes your cd drive is lettered D and windows is installed onto the C: drive, use the appropiate letter(s) if needed.

    copy d:\krn10n.sys c:\windows\system32\drivers

If the computer boots up, I would immediately install the drivers properly.
