Windows Vista Vista Home Freezing

    Hi. Been awhile since ive been on here as i havent had much to do with computers and their problems for a while.
    But i built a computer for a friend the other day and bought a new copy
    of Vista home 32bit version for something new.
    It all installed fine and installed other programs fine virus scanner etc etc.
    I got on the net and downloaded all the updates over a 2 day period
    It started freezing whilst looking at photos through the windows viewer
    and only froze once in awhile (1-2 hours). Now its starting to freez in other
    programs Photo Shop CS2, Need for Speed Pro Street and when its not doing ny thing at all. the system has,

    Asus P5QC mother Board
    4 gig G Gkill DDR3 ram
    Core2 Quad Q9400
    Asus Geforce EN9600GT Graphics Card

    Software
    CS2, Nero7, (Need For speed But froze before it was installed) Norton 360
    Power DVD 7. fully updated windows.

    Please ny help would b appreciated.

    I would remove Norton 360 first, then see if that is your problem..

    Thanks tried that no luck.
    I think i will go back to XP.
    Can you please tell me were i can download the latest XP updates
    so i can put them on a disk and install them without going back on the net to get them
    after i install XP?

    Can XP handel this hardware?

    What brand is your PSU and have you checked the system temp. Also ckd MEM.

    Power supply i assume, its standerd ATX PS2 Dont know the brand. How do i cheack system temp? i have been looking for that, but cant find it..I dont think it is temp related ny way as it does not matter how long the computer runs for b4 it freezes.
    How would i check memory?

    Gee sorry, Vista is new to me well actually computers are again.

    Vista’s built-in Memory Diagnostic Tool is accessed via Windows Orb (Start) > All Programs > Admin Tools.

    Did you install all the drivers from the motherboard and graphics card drivers disks? (Don't use drivers offered by Windows Update.)

    All the drivers should be available at the Asus website. Use the Asus Global site, not the US site.
