I have set up an ODBC connection to one of our databases, this connection tests successfully, but when I try to query via Excel or via Access, I get either blank table source or the warning that This Data source contains no visible tables. The tables are there as I can view and manipulate them via MS SQL Client. My user wants to put them into excel to query. I have checked the set up of other SQL servers on the same system and cannot find any obvious difference. I have searched the web I am having no luck at all. Does anyone have any ideas. Many thanks

    Hi sabbegk,

Here is a query from my database guy:

How have you connected to SQL server ? Through user DSN or System DSN ?

Compare table properties in the servers that work to the table properties on the server that does not work.

Done that already there does not seem to be any difference, I think it must be the database as I cannot even connect to northwind.
