I have a LiteOn LH-20A1H. It plays CD just fine, but I don't get any Audio when I try to play a DVD. I get Video just fine, but no Audio.

I've try Windows Media Player, Realtime Player, NERO Showtime, Hot Llama, and Interactual Player.

    HELP!!!:(

Are you trying to play an audio DVD ?

If yes, please read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD-Audio and http://dvd-audio.sourceforge.net/.

You may have to download a new player capable of playing audio DVD.

If you are trying to play a normal DVD, try switching your output to stereo either from the sound card panel [most of the sound card drivers have this option] or from the player or both.

Nope. I have one DVD Video that I used Nero Recode on and it works, but a Regular DVD video doesn't.

Most probably a codec problem [just plain guess]

Download & install Klite codec from http://www.majorgeeks.com/K-Lite_Codec_Pack_Standard_d4620.html. This contains most of the codecs required for playing multi media files. Now try again.

:D That did the trick. They all work except the NERO ShowTime, but that's o.k. I can deal with that later as long as the problem is fixed for the others.

    Thanx

Hi I just purchased a Liteon DVD/CD Burner, and it would not play the sound from DVD's , it burnt them Ok and played the sound from th CD's etc , then I found out the I did not have a DVD player program on my PC.( older model with only a CD burner) The unit only came with Nero 7. so I installed Cyberlink Power DVD player . ( common to most PC that will play DVD's , and it's all OK Now.
    Cheers Des.
