Hey folks...I think I'm going to get the W700 after all. It gave me an option as to whether I wanted ATI or nVidia somewhere. I forget if it was on Lenovo.com. So if given the choice, what would you select, and why??

Lenovo switched from ATI to nVidia for the T61/p series, then back to ATI, except for the W700??

    What say you, folks??

My experience has been that nVidia provides a better image on laptops & work well with windows and linux. Very few laptops can support the high end gaming video cards and I have yet to notice a real difference in picture quality & performance with the mid range laptop video.

I would select the brand and model based on what I use the laptop for. For example, if do graphics editing or video editing, I would opt for the best available video, but for general computing & dvd play I'd go mid range.

NVIDIA for me. Why? They seem to have a little more stable drivers. I moved from ATI > NVIDIA a few years ago.

It could be either - hardly makes any noticeable difference.

The whole point is to get appropriate drivers installed.

Just installed WinXP on a Compaq laptop with nVidia chipset & had to search for 2 days for the drivers as all the drivers available on Compaq site are for Vista.
