My Computer seems to clear the Run history i.e. every time I go to the Run menu it's memory is blank, as far as it is concerned I've never used it before. How do I stop this,i.e. how do i get it to remember what I've run before?

Am pretty sure that many of the anti spyware/malware apps clear out the history...I think even IE's clear history button will do it...TweakUI also has an option....

If you don't wish to track who and what setting is clearing this and are not one who wishes to stay out of the registry you can do as suggested in this old post. It mentions win98 but the hkey holds true for xp as well:

If you'd rather not bother with opening registry with regedit manually you can also do this with a bat file. Modify the name of suggested c:\aholder folder and the name of the reg as desired, but for purposes of this post I will give instructions I use myself.

Make a folder named aholder on C: and copy bolded text into notepad and save as file named mru.bat. Save it where ever is convenient for you to run periodically. This will automatically export the menu hkey for you and when you wish to import the old runline dat just double click the mru.reg file saved in your c:\aholder folder.

Make sure to remove the space between the mr u in mru.

I think I found the problem. One of my cleaning utilities was set to delete the run history. Thanks for the tipo. I'll use that.

Your most welcome macker7963. "Thank you" back at ya', for updating your post. I'm happy to see you found your fix.

As you can see, I also dislike having my runline mru cleared. Unfortunately I also frequently use cleaners for temp and history. I have worked out my own fix for this and was happy to share it. :)
