Hi, Have just installed a new DVD/CD Rewriter in my desktop, I have it as the slave unit , the original CD/RW plays music OK . there are no wires going to the sound outlets ( dig or Anl) on either of them. the new unit plays everything Ok and I burnt a DVD to test and it plays back OK but no sound, it plays Cd music Ok. It plays the sound in other units.
Does it matter if it is not the main unit, ?.( it is the slave).
got me beat ? Thanks Des.

Hi, Just a follow up to the post above , I have reloaded and run a repair on the installation disc of the unit but still no joy, as I said it will play a music CD and I found the sound works on a DVD we had made up from an old 8mm movie.?????.
I was wondering there may be some thing to tick somewhere, I ticked all the boxes of different types of DVD, Video and music ,
well hoping someone has some ideas.

It is a Liteon DVD/CD Writer Model DH-20A4PO8C.
    Cheers Des

Was that a disk that came with the DVD drive? If so, see if it has a player supplied (for example, PowerDVD or WinDVD) and try running the movie with that (it should come up as an option when you insert a DVD disk).

Thanks Mattman, You are right , I had figured that out this morning, because there was not a DVD program on my desktop before the disc that came with the burner was only Nero 7. so I installed Cyberlink Power DVD and now it will play them in that, I also now get sound when I open them in media player as well. thanks for your help.
    Cheers Des.
