I pretty much know nothing about computers, and I've been looking around on the net, but nothing has seemed to help me.

I recently rebooted my computer, and after doing that I tried to re-install my internet modem. Well, it keeps telling me it cannot install because there in no LAN connection.

So, I tried to set up a new connection, and these are the steps I went thru... > create new connection > connect to the internet > Set up connection manually > Broadband that is always on > finish. After that, nothing happens.

Does anyone know how to help me?

Shut down the computer. Unplug the modem's power cord. Check to make sure all other connections are secure. Reboot the computer. Plug in the modem when you see the Windows splash screen. Cross your fingers- Windows should "find" your modem and LAN connection again.
