   I filled out the "My system specs" in the CP, and saved the changes, but the "My System" link soesn't appear near my name. Did I miss some part of the process, or does nobody CARE that I just got a new computer?

   Yes, you did miss something. You'll have to set System Specifications to Yes in your Profile Options.
